Hedge Removal

If a hedge has outgrown its place, died back or is simply in the way, we remove it completely. We cut it down, clear the waste and deal with the roots, leaving you with a clean, usable space.

What is included

  • Removal of leylandii, laurel, privet, conifer and mixed hedges
  • Cutting down, chipping or bagging of all material
  • Root removal so the ground can be replanted, lawned or fenced
  • Clearance of dead, diseased or storm-damaged hedges
  • Preparing the space for a new fence, wall or replacement planting
  • Full waste removal and site left tidy

What happens on the day

We cut the hedge down in sections, clear and remove all the material, then deal with stumps and roots according to what you need the space for. We will agree this with you before we start.

Fence, wall or new planting afterwards

Many customers replace a hedge with a fence, a lawn or new planting. We can clear the ground ready for it and recommend a sensible next step.

Nesting season and neighbours

We check for active nests before cutting during the spring and summer, and we are happy to help with advice if the hedge is shared with a neighbour.

Frequently asked questions

Can you remove the roots?

Yes. We can remove roots or stumps depending on the hedge type and what you want to do with the space. Tell us your plans and we will quote accordingly.

How long does hedge removal take?

Most domestic hedges are done in a day. Long or very large hedges may take longer.

Do you take everything away?

Yes. All cut material and roots are removed from site.

Do I need permission to remove a hedge?

For most garden hedges you do not. Some countryside hedgerows are protected, and trees may have protection orders. If in doubt, check with your local council before we start.
